Over Stove/hob Cooking Assistant

This is a simple cooking assistant fitted with an infra red camera and two regular camera for image processing. The system aims to assist anybody with cooking by keeping an eye on what is on the stove at the time. Infra red camera provide recognition of the temperatures of the hob while the computer vision system is used to detect overflow of pots and to assist the cook with general queries. The system also is able to connect to any classic hob or stove system replacing the usual dials with a socket attached to a stepper motor meaning the system is also able to control the temperatures of the stove/hob when needed. This aims to give more freedom and independence to the elderly and anybody who may be disabled and require extra assistance especially with cooking. Research shows that those over the age of 65 are at the highest risk to loss of life due to any cooking related fires or accidents. For this reason the system will also be able to call the emergency services in the event of a fire. As the product is set to be directly above the cooking area it will be constructed from heat resistant materials and the cooling system will run from the right to the left. the middle section of the unit will provide a clear light to ensure that the camera system will always have an optimum view of the stove/hob. A machine intelligence system will link many of the hobs together allowing for greater data processing and detection of the likely causes for fires within the home hopefully preventing the deaths of many and destruction of property.
