I built some outdoor benches to replace some old benches that we had been using for some time now. if you want new benches here what you will need

Supplies

4 4x4 that are 6 feet long

4 2x6 8 ft long

4 1x3 8 ft long

all of these should make one piece extra just in case you mess up

you will also need a kreg pocket hole system

2 clamps (optional)

any type of saw (hand saw not recommended)

orbital sander

screws

drill bit

any measuring tool

a right angle (optional)

Markings

these markings can be different depending on the style of the bench you want these making will be keeping the width of the blade in mind.

Cutting

I used a DeWalt miter saw for these cuts, also make sure you keep the width of the blade in mind when making these cuts. my blade with was 1/8 of an in inch. just cut on the marking to get all the correct pieces for the bench.

the cuts

cut the 2x6 8ft into 2x6 6ft

cut the 1x3s into 1x3 1ft 6"

cut all the 4x4 8ft in to 1ft 8" peices

Markings

take a pencil and mark were all the pieces will be glued on.

we also have to make some pocket holes on the wood so you will also be making more markings.

Drilling

Line up the pocket hole tool and clamp to the wood, begin drilling holes. We are drilling the holes so we can glue and screw the pieces together, the screws out as a clamp for the glue.

The Legs

Begin gluing the one by three pieces to the legs, also screw everything tightly together, putting all the pieces together will act as a frame for the rest of it. You’re gonna need to wait 24 hours for the glue to dry.

Sanding

Now that you waited 24 hours you can begin sanding I used an orbital sander but you can use whatever you have.
