Out of the Can and Into One Pot--Quick Chili

Out of the can because as you can see that most of the ingredients are from a can. This is why it is Quick, it is already 90% cooked. Only the ground meat and onions needs the fire to be fully cooked.

Supplies

The canned ingredients are simple and easily found in many brands, sizes and prices. All supplies have a theme--southwest spicy.


2 Cans Diced Tomato with green chili.
1 Can Chili Beans
1 Can Tomato sauce with jalapenos

1/2 lb. Beef, chicken or pork

1 onion

Make it vegan with veggie burger crumbles or sautéed crumbled tofu.

Use chunky cut tomatoes, carrots and broccoli topped with cheese for a hearty meat free meal.

Spice to taste with chili powder, garlic, salt, pepper.
If you like it extra spicy get a good hot salsa and add copious amount to taste.

Time. This meal is out of the can, into the pan and on table in under 30 minutes. This recipe makes about six bowls.

For a one pan meal use deep large bottom pan. Start with 1/2 cup water at a boil, add meat. Crumble meat and as it begins to cook add onions and spices. Continue to cook while adding canned ingredients and salsa. When onions are cooked let simmer for three minutes.

Done.

This is a complete meal with a little salad, a bread, a glass of wine and thou.
