Origami Swan

Fun and easy swan origami! I got inspiration from leemacdonald who made it seem really easy, so I tried to make my own.

Supplies

You will need a square piece of paper. It doesn't matter what size, it only depends on how big of a swan you want. It also doesn't matter what type of paper you use. I used pretty thin paper which made it easier to fold, but thicker paper could make it sturdier.

Fold in Half

Fold your paper in half (from corner to corner) like so.

Open Your Paper

Open up your paper to see the line in the middle which will help guide you later on.

Fold Sides In

Fold the sides of your half inside so that it looks like a kite. Use the line in the middle to help guide you.

Turn It Over

Turn your paper over so that you can't see the folds.

Repeat Step 3

With the paper turned over, repeat step 3 where you folded the sides in. Again, use the middle line to guide you and you should end up something like this.

Lift the End

Lift the pointy end like so. How much you lift depends on how long you want the swan's neck to be.

Fold Down the Head

Now you fold down the head of the swan. Again, it depends on how big you want the head to be, but I recommend it to be about 3cm long.

Fold the Swan

To make the body 3D, fold the whole swan. You can fold it based on the middle line that you have since the beginning. Make sure to make the folds really tight so that it holds the swan up.

Now You Have a Swan :)

Release the fold and adjust as needed. You should now have your very own swan :)
