Hello everyone :) My name is Sofía González, I'm from Chile and today I'll be participating in the Pumpkin Challenge with this cute origami pumpkin <3

The materials you need are:

- Two squares of paper of the size of your choice (I used a 10x10 cm)

- Glue (it can be glue stick, white glue or the one you have at home)

- A green stripe of paper, some artificial or real leaves.

- A pair of scissors (they aren't in the photo, my bad 😅)

- Motivation! :)

Let's begin!

Doing the First Folds

To begin, make the diagonal folds as shown, then fold the half of the paper to end up having a * shape in the paper like is shown in the second picture.

Next, with the square orientated as in photo number two, fold the middle folds inwards, like in the third picture, you should end up with a figure like the one on photo numer four and five.

Let's continue! :)

Making the Main Structure

To continue, place the figure as shown in picture one and bring the right side upwards to match the half of our paper, do the same on the left side like you can see on photo number three.

Next, flip the figure and repeat the process on this side :)

Cut the Excess

Grab a pair of scissors and cut the tiny triangle in the upper part of our future pumpkin, as shown in picture number two.

If you think that by cutting the paper is "is no longer origami" you can simply fold the triangle inside and continue as shown.

Next Folds

Next, with the excess removed, place the paper as shown in the first picture, then unfold the right side and open the lower part a little bit so that you are able to fold the paper inwards as you can see in the third and fourth pictures, the do the same on the left side.

Finally, repeat the process ond the back side of the origami.

Great! You are one step closer to the origami pumpkin <3

Final Folds! You Can Do It :)

Having the paper placed like it ended in the last step, grab the right bottom half of the triangle and bring it to the center of the figure, like I show you on photo number one. Then, do the same on the left side, like on the second photo.

Almost there! Now repeat this on every layer of paper on both sides of our origami, like I did on the rest of the pictures You should end up having a structure like on the last photo.

Now Unfold Lol

I'm sorry :( but now we have to unfold the last folds that we made on the last step and open up the structure as shown in the last pic.

Fold the Tiny Tips Inwards

You're doing great! Now you'll notice that the folds we did on the last steps are very marked, fold those inwards as you can see on the first picture, from above, the origami should look like on the last photos.

I know you worked hard, but this first part was practice, you'll find out on the next step ;)

Repeat Steps 1-7 on the Other Paper Square :)

IMG_20201012_154357.jpg

You are done... with the first half of our pumpkin 😅

Remember there were two squares of paper, right? It is time to leave the finished aside and start working on the other one, all you have to do is repeat the steps 1 to 7 and we'll be almost done!

Glue the Pumpkin Together

IMG_20201012_160753.jpg

Now that you have the two halves of out little pumpkin it is time to glue them together. Apply the glue of your choice on the tiny folds of one half and gently and carefully, place one above the other and press veeery gently the two pieces together as you can see in the pictures.

Let it dry and you are done with the pumpkin! Let's finish this on the next step, shall we? <3

Finally!

To finish our cute pumpkin you can decorate it however you want.

I decided to use a little green paper stripe, roll it between my fingers to have a tiny roll and cut a leaf on it, apply glue and glue it to the top of one half. Let it dry and you are done!

Now that you know how to make this cute little pumpkins just change the size of the square and the colour of the paper as you wish and let's make decorations for the upcoming halloween.

Thanks for joining me on this instructable, hope you have a nice day :) <3
