Origami Butterfly 🦋

You will need a 6 x 6 inch piece of origami paper.

You can cut a piece of printer paper to the correct size if you do not have origami paper.

6 x 6 inch piece of paper

Start with a crisp piece of origami paper.

Fold the paper in half both ways.

(into ¼, like a + sign)

Fold the paper in half diagonally both ways.

(Like an X)

Flip the paper over.

Fold the paper upward. It resembles a tent.

Looking at the previous step, you will fold the tent in half → horizontally to make something like this.

You should have a triangular piece of paper.

Fold the corners up to make a diamond shape in the middle of the triangle.

You should have something that looks like this.

Flip the paper over and face the triangle downward.

Fold the middle piece up. It will be a small triangle.

Flip the paper over.

It should resemble a butterfly at this point.

Fold the tiny triangular piece sticking out the back, forward.

Looking at the previous step, you will fold the butterfly in half ↑ vertically so that it looks like this.

You now have a beautiful origami butterfly!
