Organize With Zip Ties
Whether you have a small closet or no closet zip ties are a great way to organize your clothing. Once you create your hangers you can hang them in your closet, on a door or just on a clothes rack. Also great for hanging up items in the laundry room.
What You Need
All you need are zip ties and a plastic coat hanger. I used 8 inch and 4 inch ties. You will also need scissors.
How to Make It
Take a 4 inch zip tie and make a circle. Now keep adding 4 inch zip ties to make a chain. I added an 8 inch zip tie at the top. Now trim all the zip ties. Put the larger zip tie around the coat hanger. Now you have a coat hanger with a chain of zip ties. This is where you are going to combine items to consolidate the items hanging in your closet.
How to Hang It
Now put shirts or any item you have in your closet onto each zip tie. Now when you hang the item back up you are actually hanging 10 items instead of 1.
Let's Organize Scarves
If you have a box of scarves that look like this I will show you a way to create a hanger for your scarves. You will start with a hanger and more zip ties.
Make the Hanger
Start with the 8 inch zip ties. Make a circle. Now make 31 more circles out of the 8 inch ties. You can make more but I made a hanger to hold 32 scarves. Now you are going to attach two circles together with a small zip tie. Make a strand of 8 attached together. Now make 3 more rows of 8 circles each. Now you are going to combine the rows together with small zip ties. So you should have 4x8 rows and columns of zip ties.
Finish the Hanger
I trimmed all the ends so there were no sharp edges sticking out. You will need to attach two small ties so you can hang this on a hanger. I attached them on number 2 and number 7 on the top line. This really depends on the type of coat hanger you are using. Now just put those over the hanger. Now you can hang 32 scarves on one hanger.
Hang Up Your Scarves
I started at the bottom and started hanging scarves I could not believe the number of scarves I had in the box. I am going to make another one and use zip ties that are a little thicker. After a couple of rows of scarves they start to sag. But this is definitely better than having them in a box getting wrinkled. I hope you get organized with zip ties.
