Oreo Buttercream Macarons #HMS2018
Today I am going to be making oreo buttercream macarons.
You will need
for the macarons:
1 cup of almond flour
2 cups of powdered sugar
three large eggs
3/4 cups of granulated white sugar
1/2 cup of butter
tools:
stove
pot
heat proof bowl
oven
electric mixer
sifter
baking pans
parchment paper
whisk
pastry bags
some different sized bowls
buttercream ingredients:
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of white granulated sugar
two large egg whites
oreo's
2 cups of water
Optional:
food coloring
brownies
Sifting
First take 2 cups of powdered sugar and one cup of almond flour and sift it until there are no more chunks.
Mix
Next mix those two ingredients.
Mix the Eggs
Now take three large egg whites and the 1/4 cup of sugar, and mix it either by hand or in an electric mixer. I'm lazy so I used an electric mixer. It should look like shaving cream.
Combine
Now combine the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients, and fold them together.
Pipeing
Now put the batter in the pastry bag and line your baking pans with parchment paper and start to make whatever shapes you like.
Baking
Preheat your oven to 325 and put your macarons in the oven for about 15-18 minutes, but before you put them in the oven, tap the bottom of the pan to get the air bubbles out..( To check if there done, take a tooth pick and poke a hole in the shell.
Buttercream Filling
First take the cream out of the oreo's and put the cookies in a plastic bag, and start to break them up.( not to small but not to big of chunks).
Boil Some Water
Boil 2 cups of water and with a heat proof bowl, put the egg whites and 1/4 cup of sugar in until it is hot to the touch, or until the sugar is fully dissolved.( Make sure you stir it occasionally because you don't want scrambled eggs.)
Mix Eggs Again
Take an electric mixer and mix the eggs on medium high until all white and cold or room temperature to the touch.
Add in Butter
Take 1/2 cup of butter, and chop it into small cubes and add them in on a slow speed one at a time. After that, add in the oreo cream, and the oreo crumbles.
Chill
Next put it into a medium sized bowl and put it in the fridge to firm up. take your pastry bag and start to pipe the cream into the macarons.
Smack Them on a Plate and Try to Make Them Look Nice
To make them look nice, I would put them on a small plate and add another smaller side dish, like a chocolate brownie or fruit
You're Done!
Enjoy your oreo buttercream macarons. You can use this recipe over and over again trying new flavors like cream cheese filling, blackberry compote buttercream, and anything you like. p.s I look like trash.
