Oobleck is a fun science experiment from Dr. Seuss book Bartholomew and the Oobleck it's were a green blob terrorized a kingdom.

Oobleck acts like a liquid when being poured, but like a solid when a force is  used on it. You can roll it up into a ball and then stop then it will ooze out of your hands

Materials

Supplies need:
-a bowl it gets a bit messy
-measuring cup
-corn starch
- you could also use food coloring(optional)
What I used was some coloring for frosting

To start just use two cups of cornstarch and 1-1.5 cups of water.

Mix

When mixing you can start with the corn starch in the bowl first or the other way around.

When pouring in the water do it slowly you can mix it with your hand or a spoon.

The right consistincy is where it is no longer a solid or a liquid to test it punch it if water splashes it needs a bit mor corn starch. if it is to rough you might want to add a bit more water.

Try Things

Have fun with it, and here are some things you could try to make it even more interesting.
Roll it up in a ball then let it ooze through your hand .

Try to punch it then gently slide your fist, and immediately try to take it out.

Also try to jab the oobleck with you finger then gently let it slide in

You could also try to puting it on top of a subwoofer and play some low frequencies at high volume.  This is tough to do put it amazing to watch.

Food Coloring

You can also try to add food coloring to add to the fun.  Just simply add one or two drops and it would be ready.

The kind I am using is a very concentrated form so I had to use a toothpick to take it out and mixit

Fun With Color
