Old Time Gingersnaps
These gingersnap molasses cookies, are a classic dessert, or snack you can take anywhere for EVERYONE to enjoy. They are easy enough to make, and are created using basic household ingredients.
Ingredients:
*half recipe if you want to make about 1-2 dozen, full recipe makes about 5 dozen*
~¾ cup butter
~2 cups white sugar
~2 egg, well beaten
~½ cup molasses
~2 tsp. white molasses
~3 ¾ cups of flour
~1 ½ tsp. baking soda
~2-3 tsp ground ginger
~½ tsp ground cloves
~½ tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 325℉.
Grease cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray, or use parchment paper.
Thoroughly mix ingredients in order given: Beat butter, sugar and eggs together, than beat in cold molasses, and vinegar.
In separate bowl, combine together flour, baking soda, ground ginger, ground cloves, and cinnamon.
Sift dry ingredients slowly into moist ingredients and mix with a wooden.
Roll into 1” balls, and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bottom of cookies are golden brown. Optional: With a fork, you can press the fork into the cookie dough ball to create a cross like design.
To keep cookies fresh store in a tin box.
