October Office Re-organization - Disaster to Divine
I work from home. I'm a full-time stay-at-home mom, blogger, freelance writer, photographer and teacher. I have very little time to sit down to work - and when I do, my office is a disaster. If it was organized I could be so much more efficient! Which means I could spend less time looking for things, less time working and more time with my family.
I made a goal to have my office reorganized and rejuvenated by the end of September. That's been pushed back to the end of October. :) I don't want to push it back to November! I'd love to get this done - get it knocked out and make it a knock out of an office. I know IKEA is the answer. My bookshelves, desk, table and filing cabinet are good ole IKEA classics, but I think I want something other than a corner desk and more of a work table for my printer and other items. I'd like to get a larger filing cabinet to tackle my paper mess and I would love some wall organizers and photo boxes for storage. I'd also love to have a desk for my husband so he could have a spot for his coaching equipment and teaching supplies.
I love the simple lines and table space of this desk: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S79885498/. I think the colors would lighten up the room a lot and the drawers would provide the needed storage for all my pens, papers and other supplies.
I would pair it with this simply (yet sexy) filing cabinet here: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10134848/. This would be perfect for all my work files and I can envision a future with NO papers on the floor.
My current office chair, which I paid more than I'd like to disclose on, squeaks like an old dog toy, which sucks when you're on a conference call. I'd love to replace it with a comfy, cozy chair like this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90096456/.
These shelves would be perfect for clearing the clutter from my desktop. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S29891393/
I'd love to decorate the walls with images I love, that will inspire me! http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00128409/
This clock would be just the thing to keep me on track - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70152467/. I think the black/white will contrast well with the white furniture I picked out.
With a four-year-old and a two-year-old I have no extra time to mess around - so this $1,000 gift card would amazing to just be able to make a trip to Ikea and MAKE IT HAPPEN because I know I'll find what I need at Ikea. I always do.
And. . .I should mention, the office is a serious thorn in my husband's side. He's so generous and gracious - but because I hate my office I work in every other room in the house, besides the office, which means I have piles everywhere - kitchen, dining room, living room. He calls them my "nests" and he dreams of the day when I can nest in one place - the OFFICE.
Thank you for the opportunity!
