Oatcakes Recipe

Project of the Week: Oatcakes

This week I'm making a variation on the Scottish bannock. Like lembas, these oatcakes will keep you going through anything, be it a hike, or a night-long study session.

Things you will need:

40g Butter

2 tablespoons Flour

1.75 cups Rolled oats

0.25 cups water

3 tablespoons Honey

1 teaspoon salt

This recipe yields about 10 oatcakes.

Mix

Mix the ingredients in a bowl, until the dough is an even consistency. If you would like, now would be a good time to add berries or nuts for some extra flavor.

While you do this, preheat the oven to 350 degrees (F).

Bake

Lay out the dough on a greased pan so that they are 1/4 of an inch think and 2 inches in diameter. Lay them out so that there is about an in ch between them.

Put them in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Cool and Eat

After half an hour, take out the pan and let the oatcakes cool. In about half an hour, they are ready to eat.
