Cut Felt & Batting

Start by cutting the shapes out of the felt and batting. Cut two matching shapes out of the felt, one for the front and one for the back. Cut the same shape out of the batting. Then trim 1/8" off the entire perimeter of the batting. The batting should be about 1/8" smaller than the felt when sandwiched between the two felt pieces.

Sew the Shapes Together

Use an embroidery needle and embroidery floss to sew a blanket stitch around each object. We pushed the needle through the back piece of felt because we were sewing two pieces of felt together, the knot needed to go between the two pieces of felt.

Finally, we brought the needle back down through the loop we made. We repeated this process all the way around the object.

String Objects

Connected the shapes together using clear string. Attach the top one shape to the bottom of the next shape and so on.

Use a router with a plunge mount and cutting bit to make the hole for the camera. The camera mount makes a great template.

Hang Mobile

Finally, use a drill to make three holes in a triangle to attach the cord used to hang the mobile from above. Then, drill smaller holes for each clear string, connecting the objects together, to hang the objects from below.
