this Now tv white box was released back in the 2010s in the united kingdom and was a streaming box powered by sky/roku, its goal at the time to turn your TV to a smart TV. but as time go by, sky ended support to all whitebox models in 2020 bricking the streaming boxes rendering it useless, which seems an anti consumer move which the streaming box could of been used for some other purpose but taking away the ability to use the box and throw it out and forced to get a new one to continue watching which i find that quite wrong. so since it doesn't have a SD/USB slot not even has a networking port, there no seeable way to get through the sorry we dont support screen, so i decide to tear it down to see what i could do with it and see if there was any ports or removable parts inside so heres the step by step guide on tearing down the now TV box so you could come up with the idea to do something with the board or put something else inside the plastic case like putting in a modern mini streaming thing to keep the 2010s tech vibes and aesthetics more

Supplies

a tea towel or rubber mat to prevent it from scratching and a T6 screwdriver

Unscrewing the Casing

with still showing up the unbypassable message to prevent you from using it, the board just need to be reprogramed, compents changed or design up a new lodgic board to be faster and better and act as a replacement lodgic board

without throwing it out, try doing something to the board or add something small in the casing of the now tv white box case to still make it as a small streaming box, the circuit board of the roku express may be small enough, or turning it into an external storage device casing by putting an SSD into it, and store or transfer all your all your file of it.

would like to hear your ideas on this.
