Non-Pareil Candy -- Made in the Microwave
I love candy, and I love making gifts to give from my kitchen, or just to snack on. Whether you're a kid, or a kid at heart, these easy non-pareils (candy sprinkle covered chocolates) take less than two minutes to make, from pantry to plate.
So, let's getting to making some candy!
Only Two Ingredients
There are only two ingredients that you'll need:
- chocolate wafers (found at a local bulk store or craft store)
- multi-coloured round candy, sometimes called non-pareils, or hundreds & thousands, or sprinkles
That's all you'll need!
Prepping
First, take a microwaveable square pan and line it with parchment paper. Place the chocolate wafers on the parchment paper about 1 inch apart. Zap in the microwave for about 60 seconds or until the chocolate is soft but not gooey or runny.
Decorating
Remove pan from microwave and pour non-pareils all over the chocolates. They'll run everywhere but that's ok, because they're in a container; you just want to make sure that they stick to the softened chocolates.
Then place the container in the fridge until set.
Then pop the candy-covered chocolates off the parchment paper and voila! You're done!
You can reuse the leftover sprinkles for your next batch.
Voila!
Yes, it really is that easy to make your own candy!
