No-Oven Garlic Bread Recipe
Hello everyone! In this instructable, we will see how to make garlic bread in a very simple and very tasty way in less than 15 minutes. If you don't know, let me tell you: garlic contains a bioactive compound called allicin, which has powerful health benefits including potent antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and cardiovascular effects, which is also a main component of our garlic bread recipe. Also, we will use minimal ingredients so everyone can make it. So, are you ready? Let's begin!
Supplies
So for this recipe, we will need very few ingredients such as:
- Garlic
- Bread (white bread is preferred, but you can use any)
- Butter
- Chilli flakes (optional)
- Oregano
- Bowl
- Grater
- Pan
Ingredient Composition Details
I am making 10 small-size garlic bread slices. For that, I am taking 10 garlic cloves, each nearly 1.5 cm in size. This is Indian garlic, which is moderately strong in taste, due to which my garlic bread will have a very nice garlicky taste.
As I am making 10 garlic breads, I am taking 2.5 to 3 grams of oregano seasoning mix and 40 grams of butter.
Chilli flakes are optional, but I will add 3 grams of it, as I like it.
In short, one small slice will have 1 garlic clove, 0.25 g of oregano, 0.30 g of chilli flakes, and 4 grams of butter.
If you want a more garlicky taste, take 1.5 to 2 garlic cloves per bread slice and increase the butter to 50–55 grams for the same.
Please take note that I have not added any extra salt, as the butter I am using already has common salt added, as well as the oregano.
Making Garlic Butter Mix
Step 1: Peel the outer skin of the garlic and grate it using a grater.
Step 2: Add butter, oregano, chilli flakes, and garlic to a bowl.
Step 3: Mix it at room temperature. If you want, you can heat and melt the butter for a finer and more even taste.
Apply Butter on Breads
I’ll share two ways of making it: one is crispy (my favourite) and the other one is soft. The cooking methodology is almost the same for both, only the way we apply the butter differs.
If you want to make your garlic bread crispy, apply the garlic butter mix on one side and keep the other side as it is.
If you want to make it soft, apply butter on both sides.
Cooking Time
Now preheat the pan on a medium flame for 3–4 minutes. Please note, I am using a non-stick pan for better results.
If you are making the crispy version, place the butter-applied side on the pan for about 15–20 seconds. Note that we just need the butter to get absorbed by the bread, not to cook it. Once it is properly soaked, flip it to the dry side and cook it until it gets a light brown or golden colour, as shown in the 2nd image. The dry side of the bread will become crispy. Then flip it once again and cook it for some more time, till the butter gets a slightly golden-brown colour.
If you are making the soft version, just cook both sides until each side gets slightly golden brown. It’s that simple.
Your garlic bread is completed. Enjoy it with cheese. I didn’t have cheese, so I created a sauce using mayo and tomato sauce, with toppings of burnt garlic (remaining on the pan).
Please try this recipe. It is simple, does not require much hassle, and can be made easily in just 10–15 minutes. It is tasty as well. Please do let me know in the comments what you think about this recipe.
Thank you so much.
