No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Everybody loves a no bake dessert. Most people love peanut butter so in this dessert you have both. It's creamy a bit crunchy from the graham crackers so good! Perfect to take to a New Years party. It's similar to a Reese's cup but with the added graham cracker crunch! Hope you give it a try! To make your own simply follow the step by step instructable or watch the video tutorial here:
Ingredients and Tools
Ingredients
For Peanut Butter Layer
- 1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1 cup unsalted Butter, (room temp)
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 2 cups Graham Cracker crumbs
For Chocolate Layer
- 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
- ¼ cup Creamy Peanut Butter
Tools
- Hamilton Beach Hand Mixer
- 8X11 Glass Baking Dish
- Pyrex Bowl 3 set
- All Clad Sauce Pan 3qt
- Parchment Paper
- Misc. Kitchen Utensils.
Peanut Butter Layer
Start by lining an 8x11 baking pan with parchment paper, making sure it goes up the sides for easy removal later on.
For the Peanut Butter Layer: Combine peanut butter, butter and salt in a large bowl using a hand mixture until smooth. Gradually add in powdered sugar until combined.
Add Graham Crackers
Then gradually add in graham cracker crumbs until combined. I accidentally added more than I would have liked on the first round but it still came together with a little more mixing. Adding less graham crackers each time will make mixing easier.
Scoop and Smooth
Add peanut butter mixture to prepared baking pan and press mixture down into one even layer.
The Chocolate Layer
Chocolate Layer: In a double boiler, add chocolate chips and peanut butter to a small heat safe bowl and add water to a small sauce pan (water should come up 1 inch on the sides of sauce pan) and on low heat melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together.
Pour Chocolate
Once melted, pour on top of peanut butter layer and spread out evenly.
Cool and Cut
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 and ½ hours or until bars are firm. Once the bars are set, take them out of the pan and slice.
Enjoy!
Enjoy these somewhat Reese's bar snacks and time!
