NightLight

image0.jpeg

Instead of going out a buying a Nightlight, you can make one yourself at home. Here, I have made instructions on how to make a nightlight using only a pringle can, a flashlight, and paper. For this nightlight, I didn't make any stencils, I simply made a dot in the paper to demonstrate that it works. For those who are more artistic and good with scissors, you can draw any shape or figure or design or whatever you want on the paper and cut out the shape and place it on the lid to display something better than a dot.

I am a student at North Broward Preparatory School

Supplies

Pringles can (could be any type of can)

Paper (Best with a thicker sheet of paper so the light doesn't illuminate the whole sheet of paper, only the design)

Flashlight

Cut Out a Circle and Make Design

In the paper, you will want to trace out a circle a bit bigger than the lid of the pringles can. Then, cut out the circle and make your design in the center of the circle. After drawing your design, cut it out.

Fit the Paper Into the Lid of the Pringles Can

Now that you have readied your paper and made your design, fit the paper into the lid of the pringles can. (Use a bit of force to make the paper take the shape of the lid).

Place Flashlight in Pringles Can

Place the flashlight in the pringles can. Make sure to turn the flashlight on before you put it in. For this image it is turned off for the purpose of being able to see the flashlight in the can.

Place the Lid With the Paper on It on the Pringles Can

Now, the light should be turned on inside the pringles can, add the lid with the paper onto the pringles can, use force to make the lid and the paper actually stay on the pringles can and fit.

Enjoy!

Now, you can turn off the lights and enjoy your nightlight! Also, for more fun with the nightlights, you can use flashlights with other colors, such as red, green, pink, blue, ... Enjoy!
