Night Lamp With Woolen Lampshade

Hi guys,

This is a simple and easy night lamp project. I used woolen thread to make lampshade of this project.

it could be used inside and outside of the house and also used as night lamp or decorative lamp.

lets us see the required components of this project.

To make lampshade,

1. Balloon

2. woolen thread

3. glue

To make lamp base,

1. cement

2. rubber hand gloves

lets see step by step procedure to make this project.

1. Balloon - 1

2. woolen thread - as required

3. white adhesive - 100g

4. needle - 1

5. cement - as required

6. rubber hand glove - 1 set

7. plastic tray, plastic bowl - 1

8. lamp holder - 1

9. night lamp - 1

10. switch - 1

11. glue gun

12. wire

13. paints

Take a plastic tray, fill the tray with glue and water. i used white glue (fevicol 105g) and i used normal water of 100ml.

the glue and water mixing should be 1:1 ratio. please check once after prepared the glue for it's stickiness.

After preparing glue, take your woolen thread and stick it with the glue. when the complete woolen came wet and sticky, now it is ready to wrap on balloon.

Before that, fill air in the balloon and mark circle at the bottom of the balloon which will use as opening of the lamp shade later.

now wrap the sticky woolen thread all around the balloon except below to the marked circle, once its over left the lampshade to dry for 24 hours.

After 24hours, now the lampshade is try enough to remove the balloon from it.

just make a little hole using needle on the balloon and use your fingers to remove the contact between balloon and woolen lampshade. once this process over, we will get nice and round lampshade as wanted.

be careful and gentle with this process and it is a very funny part of this project.

we are going to make the base with cement paste. Take the amount of cement according to your gloves size.

I used 3 cup cement and 1 cup water as the consistency should be like solid paste.

(use less water to make solid cement paste. it will help to settle the cement faster.)

After preparing cement paste, fill the gloves with the required amount of paste. check once with the look of the hand and amount of cement filled. then knot the rubber gloves. once this process completed for both the gloves, place the hands with some round shaped tray as we are expecting the base should be look like bowl.

then place some small bowl on the hands and put some weight to make the cement base to look like bowl shaped hand.

once this process over, left the cement hand shaped base to settle and dry for 24 hours.

after the cement base dried enough, remove the gloves from it.

i would like to see my hand shaped base in silver color. so, i painted with white color in first coating. after the white coating is dry, i painted the base with silver color.

you can paint the hand with your desired color or you can keep it with original cement color itself.

after the base is completely ready with paint and all. now, it is a time to fix the lamp holder in the base.

before to that connect wire and switch to the holder. the connection is very simple. make the connection as shown in the diagram.

after the connection is over, fix the holder with base. i did this with the help of glue gun.

once everything is completed check the connection once with lamp.

once the base is fixed with lamp holder and lamp, now it is a time to cover the lamp with lamp shade.

now our project is completely ready, enjoy the beauty of this project at every night.
