Needle Felted Pumpkin
Make these cute little needle felted pumpkins. A really good beginner project.
Supplies
Brown roving and roving of another colour.
Felting needle (fine)
Skewer (or any thin long object you can wrap the wool around)
Warm water and soap
Make a Ball
Wrap the roving around your finger to get the rough shape of a ball.
Do some stabbing to keep the roving in place and shape it into a neater ball. You'll want to keep the ball fairly loose. Don't felt it too hard or the next steps will be impossible.

Make It a Pumpkin
Start stabbing a circle around the ball. Stab quite vigorously to define that circle.
Stab another circle at ninety degrees to the first one. Then stab the diagonal ones between the first two.
Go over each "bump" lightly with the needle. Shape it so that the sides are even and it's smooth.
Add the Stem
Wrap the brown roving tightly around your needle till it's about the width and height you'd like.
Slide the roving off the needle and stab to secure and define it's shape.
Put the stem onto the pumpkin and felt it into place.
Take some more brown roving and felt it around the stem.
Make Some Tendrils
Get a long thin piece of brown roving.
Dip it in some warm soapy water.
Rub it between your hands till it felts together and you can't easily pull the wool apart.
Dip it in some warm water to rinse out the soap.
Wrap it tightly around the skewer.
Leave it out to dry and make sure it doesn't unravel.
Once it's dry, take it off the skewer and it should hold it's shape.
Felt it onto the stem of the pumpkin (cut it down to the size you'd like).
