Ever heard of a rice bag? Well this one is pi shaped and for your neck!

Supplies

Supplies:

- Sewing Machine

- Scissors

- Template (I made my own and if make your own as well I would suggest making it or transferring it onto a stiffer and thicker paper such as cardboard or cardstock.)

- Pen

- Pins

- Thread

- Fabric (100% cotton, anything with synthetic material such as polyester with burn and/or melt)

Step 1: Measure and Cut Fabric

Lay fabric out with the front side (the vibrant side) facing you and fold one end over so the back side (the dull side) is facing you. Then measure out a square that will fit your template (mine is about 18"x12") and draw a line to as a marker to show you where to cut. Place pins along the line to hold the fabric layers in place while you cut. Remember to remove the pins as you get to them while cutting.

Step 2: Place, Trace, and Cut Out Shape

Place your template on the fabric and use the pen to trace it. You may want to use double-sided tape to help hold the template in place. After you have traced the template, place pins along the outline to hold the layers of fabric together while you cut. Remember to remove them as you get to them while cutting.

Step 3: Sew

Pin together the layers of fabric. The pin heads should be facing out so you can easily pull them out while sewing. Make sure your sewing machine is set up and properly threaded before you start sewing. Sew the two layers together leaving about an 1/8-1/2 of and inch seam. Leave the opening at the bottom of the legs or the top open. While sewing make sure to reverse and go back a little and go forward again at the corners to get a good seal. After you are done sewing cut a small line on all the corners to insure clean, square corners.

Step 4: Fill With Rice and Sew It Closed

Flip inside out so that the front side is now showing. You will then need to fold in the edge like shown in the first picture and pin it. Fill the legs with rice and then sew the top to about 2 inches from the end. Then fill the top with rice. When the entire bag is full, sew the bag shut.
