In my neighborhood walks, I have collected some fallen nature. Do not pick stuff off nature and let it grow, only take fallen pieces of art.

Supplies

If tools and material is not available at your neighborhood walks and/or as household item, Michaels Art and Craft Store is recommended

Tools:

  • An instrument to drill or poke a hole in/through the nut. Be safe than sorry when drilling or poking a hole in/through the nut
  • Two buckets to hold the nuts/beads in. One to hold raw nuts and the other to hold the finished beads. (Raw nuts transformed to beads)

Material:

  • For this instructable, I chose the acorn to be the nut/bead of choice
  • Flexible Beading Wire
  • Elastic string

Drilling Hole in Acorn

20230904_205853.jpg

Drill a hole in the wider section of raw Acorn nuts, and transfer them from the raw nuts bucket to the finished beads bucket. Please, refer to the provided cover photo, for better understanding of what is meant by this step.

Bead Stringing

Now is the step to "bead stringing" by putting the beads on a “flexible beading wire” string. Please make sure by managing that beads don’t go in from one side and come out from the other side of the string. I usually tie a knot at one end of the string, (the opposing end of where beads go in). Also, because of my eyesight, I do the stringing using a hands free magnifying glass. Next, form the “flexible beading wire” which has acorns on it, into a circle with the tip of the acorn pointing to the center of the circle and twist both ends of the “flexible beading wire” together such that acorns don’t fall out of the “flexible beading wire”. Please, refer to the provided cover photo, for better understanding of what is meant by this step.

Attach the Elastic String

Get a piece of “Elastic string” to the length of comfortably worn on the wrist, without any stretching. Make two knots to tie each end of “Elastic String” to “flexible beading wire” on the diameter of the circle of acorn nuts.

I was not so much into the art of jewelry making. Writing this instructable was a “great learning experience” for me, as I watched many “how to videos” and had a few trips to Michaels Art and Craft Store and let my imagination and creativity go wild. For example, the very first thing I would like to do to this bracelet is to attach a "beaded charm" for extra effect! I hope you enjoyed making this bracelet as much as I did and get motivated to get more interested in jewelry making.
