- dry branch (around 30cm) -----> Be careful in choosing a branch, it is important that it's dry, and we don't want to harm the tree :) I took mine from Paulownia tree I have in my backyard. The wood is very light and easy to work with.

- rope

- super glue

- scissors

- nails

- glue gun

- shells for decoration

Tie the Rope

Take 50cm of rope and wrap each end with each end of the branch and tie simple double knots. When you are done, it should look like a triangle. This is the point where you can adjust height of the hanger and position of the branch. Curvy branches are more beautiful than flat ones, so you can place them the way you like. If you prefer flat branch, that's all right as well :D

Gluing the Rope

Pour a few drops of super glue on the knots to hold them in place, and cut the ends when the glue is dry.

Hammering the Nails

Decide how many nails you want to have. I have a thing for number 7, so that will always be my choice :) They will be the ones to hang the jewellery on, so you can put as many as you like. Choose the width of gaps between nails, and mark where you want to hammer them. It's ok if the gaps are not all the same, and if the angles of nails are not the same. It is not easy to place them all in perfect line on a curvy branch. I haven't followed all marks that I made, but they are not so visible, so it's ok :)

I decided to cover rope knots, but you can decorate it any way you like. With shells it looks beachy, summery and they are very easy to glue on. All you need to do is to secure them with hot glue, and you are done. If the glue is visible, you can cut it with scalpel and remove it, but I didn't mind that. You can put as many shells as you like, in any shape. The creativity is all up to you!

Hang your jewellery on and enjoy having beautiful, natural looking hanger for non tangled jewellery!
