Natural Tie Dye Bread

I'm sure we all have a piece of tie dye clothing somewhere deep in the closet, let's make some bread to match 🤪✌️


*Note* the powders will affect the flavor of the bread, you can add more for vibrate colors but be aware that it will change the taste

Supplies

3 cups all purpose flour

2 teaspoon instant yeast

2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon green spirulina

1 teaspoon blue spirulina

1 teaspoon purple sweet potato powder

1.5 cup warm water

Large mixing bowl

Four smaller mixing bowls

Measuring cups/spoons

Mixing utensils

Dutch oven

parchment paper

Mix Flour

Mix flour, yeast and salt

Add Color

Evenly separate the flour mixture into four smaller bowls

Add one teaspoon of each color to each bowl, mix well

Add Water

Add equal amounts of the warm water to each color, mix together

Form Loaf

Take half of each color and place into large bowl,

add the other half of each color on the opposite side of the bowl

(first layer- clockwise: yellow, blue, purple, green; second layer- purple, green, yellow, blue)

you don't have to follow these exact color instructions but you want a different color on top

Let Rise

Cover the loaf with plastic wrap and leave on the counter to rise for 2-3 hours

**30 minutes before you're ready to bake, place your dutch oven in the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F**

Bake

Turn your dough ball onto lightly floured parchment paper and place in preheated dutch oven.

Bake with the cover on for about 25 minutes, take the cover off and bake for 10-15 minutes until crispy

Cool and Slice

Transfer your loaf to a wire rack and let cool completely before slicing!
