NYC Music Jar

A good friend was visiting me in New York last August. While walking around the city in the steamy heat of summer he kept remarking how beautiful the city must be in the winter when it snows. I thought a nice idea would be to make him a New York music box (Jar) winter wonderland.

I gathered the supplies I needed and was happy to fine the music for New York, New York

a large Mason Jar, a music box turntable (purchased from National Artcraft) evergreen branch, glitter, star sequins, jingle bells and toys to decorate the lid.

an awl and hammer

Using the awl and hammer I punched a hole in the lid big enough to put the music box through. I then added the wooden turntable.

Use epoxy to glue toy decorations to the lid of the jar.

using the other materials I collected I set up a mini winter wonderland inside the jar.

screwed on the lid and there was my NYC Music in a Jar.
