What to Do
Preheat over to 350 degrees, and butter and flour to two 8" or 9"cake pans.
Mix all of the dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Break the clumps of brown sugar into the flour. Set aside
Melt the butter in a pan, and put it in a large mixing bowl. In a double-boiler, melt the chocolate. Add it to the butter, and mix it in with an electric mixer. Add the maple syrup, the eggs, the milk, the seltzer, and the vanilla. Mix it thoroughly. Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture. Once it is not lumpy, pour it into the cake pan, and put it in the oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick is inserted into the middle of the cake and comes out clean. Wait 10 minutes before taking out of pan. Ice and enjoy!
