NES Controller Wallet

In this instructables i will show you how i made a wallet out of a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) controller. Other than the NES controller itself everything else should be common household items to make this cool and unique project.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

You will need a Nintendo Entertainment System controller (NES) which you can get at the Gameroom in Lincoln, you will also need a pair of pants, scissors, crazy glue, and a small Philips screw driver. All of these you can purchase at Walmart for a cheap price.

Step 2: Begin Unscrewing the Screws & Remove Circuit Board

You will then need to unscrew the screws out of the back of the controller, you will need the small Phillips screw driver. You will no longer require the screws so do with them what you will. Once you have all the screws out you will be able to remove the circuit board fairly easily, just undo the wire leading out of the controller and it should just pop right out.

Step 3: Clean the Buttons & Glue Them So They Stay

You will then see this as the picture above, you will take out the top white objects holding the buttons together and glue in them and outside of them so they will stay put and be a good place for the material to stay when you glue them together. You will want to do this so the buttons stay and you will have that classic NES look. You will glue and let it sit so that it can fully stick to the material.

Step 4: Begin Cutting Pants

You will then cut out the zipper of the pants so that it can be used to open the wallet and put money inside of it. You will also need to cut out extra material of the pants so that the money has somewhere to lay.

Step 5: Finishing It Up

After you have glued all the material and have it where you want it, the glue should be dried and you should be able to put the finishing touches on the wallet. You can cut off the excess pants material that you have hanging and clean the outside of the controller so it is all nice and shiny. You can even go a few steps further and add an area where you can put your IDs and Debit cards. My wallet is a prototype and i could make it cleaner and add such things but for the most part it will work as a wallet.
