Design is an Iterative Process

N0-BR is from an alternate timeline where Obi-Wan chose not to train Anakin as a Jedi. Anakin went on to become a successful droid designer on Coruscant where he released his hit model N0-BR. The Clone Wars concluded after the arrest of Count Dooku and his subsequent confessions exposing a plot to destroy the Jedi. Anakin grew old with Padmé, his children, and his freed mother by his side.

His inspiration for the droid came from an early conversation with Padmé about how cold space is.

I was stuck. I had failed to make a functional and aesthetically pleasing droid. What design purpose was there in the Star Wars universe that had not been tackled by a droid already? I went back to the drawing board and came up with the idea of a space heater (pun intended). The droid went through multiple iterations, finally leading to N0-BR.
