My Plant Box (recycle and Reuse)

What do you think about the material of my stand box? My dad bought a set of sofas, left some planks to be sent to the trash can. I told my dad that I can use these seemingly useless stuff to do a stand box for our plants. Maybe it’s a good idea for not only elevating the plant, but also decorating our living room.

Sketch, Measure, Cut and Build

Based on our plant pot I measured the length of the planks and cut them with saw. I generally sketched the construction of the box. In every corner I created a group with one long plank for stand and one short flank vertically to the long one to solid the construction. The four corners make a windmill composition to make sure the whole construction balanced and steady.
I used three paralleled planks to form every side of the box.
As for the bottom of the box, I cut four planks, let them form a windmill shape, and connected
all these planks with nails. Don’t worry, although the bottom has a square hole I can put a round ceramic plate on this support, which can hold up the plant pot.

Add Handles, Paint and Decorate

My mom has a wasted cooking pot, I don’t want to throw it away, so I cut the two handles and screwed to my plant box. For decoration I use red acrylic to paint the whole box and cover all the nails outside. The most interesting thing is the flower stamps. Can you imagine how I did it? I found a very thick celery in my kitchen, and cut the root, the section of which looks beautiful enough to stamp on my box, then some flowers randomly showed up! Oh, don’t forget stamp some words, such as my love!
Sometimes I leave my plant box in the living room, sometimes I can move it to the yard and get more sunlight with my creative handles. My plant grows higher almost to the ceiling because of the support of my plant box. The whole tree looks stronger and bigger than before.
