Step 1

Plug your Circuit Playground Express into your computer and open https://makecode.adafruit.com/

This is where you will create your code.

You will put "on shake" from the input category, a repeat block and choose how long you want your music to play (I chose 4 times) then you will select the "show animation" light block and choose what you would like your animation to be, lastly you will chose the "play melody" block from music and either choose a pre-existing melody or make your own!

If you want to make a tune that is longer than the melody that is provided in the "play melody" block you can select notes in the "play tone at" block in the music section. This requires much much more work and you must also select how long you would like the note to play.

You can also make your bracelet play multiple different tunes using different input blocks. For instance you can use the block that says "on button A click" and add another tune the same or different way as you did on the first one!

Step 2

Now test your code out to make sure that it works the way it should- playing the tune and showing the animation when you shake it!

Step 3

Gather your felt, thread, needle and scissors.

Cut a piece of felt that is the proper size to wrap around your wrist with some room for the battery pack.

Sew the little disk guy to the felt with one stitch per hole.

Step 4

Now you will plug the cord that goes to the battery pack in and sew it down to the fabric on the inside so it doesn't show or get caught on anything.

Step 5

The last steps are to either clip the battery pack onto the felt using the built in plastic clip or sew the battery pack into the fabric and to sew a button, velcro, sew the bracelet on or use the clip again to secure it on your wrist!

I did not have velcro or buttons so I simply clipped it shut because I didn't want to sew it onto myself!

You can also add embroidery to decorate it and potentially add LED lights with a lithium battery and conductive thread!
