Make the Box

Materials Needed:

  1. Some board (wood, plastic, or cardboard)
  2. A4 paper
  3. Ruler
  4. Glue
  5. (Optional) Sound sensor and light string for additional features

Tools Needed:

  1. Scissors or a utility knife
  2. Measuring tape or ruler
  3. Pencil

Instructions:

  1. Measure and Cut the Board:
  2. Using the ruler and a pencil, mark out the dimensions of the box on the board. You will need six pieces:
  3. Two pieces of 47 cm x 20 cm (for the top and bottom)
  4. Two pieces of 47 cm x 11 cm (for the long sides)
  5. Two pieces of 20 cm x 11 cm (for the short sides)
  6. Carefully cut out these pieces using scissors or a utility knife.
  7. Assemble the Box:
  8. Lay out the pieces to form the box. Start by gluing the two long sides (47 cm x 11 cm) to the short sides (20 cm x 11 cm), forming the box’s structure. Use glue along the edges where the pieces meet.
  9. Allow the glue to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.
  10. Attach the Top and Bottom:
  11. Once the sides are dry and secure, glue the top and bottom pieces (47 cm x 20 cm) to the open sides of the structure. Make sure the pieces are aligned properly and secure them with glue.
