Have you ever been cooking and you needed a place to put your spoon but you didn’t want to dirty dish well this is were the multi use phone holder/cooking helper can I help you. So if you want to learn how to make one read the rest of these instructions.
Supplies:
- Glue
- Cardboard
- wooden dowels
- Suction cups
- Screwdriver
- Binder clips
- Scissors
- X-Acto knife
Now that you have all your supplies let’s go and start making our project. So let’s go get started.
Tracing Your Spoon
So let’s start, find a cooking spoon of your choice. Grab your cardboard and make a very noticeable outline of your spoon. Make sure that you could see the outline so it’ll be easier for you to cut it in the future. Trace this three times and make sure that they’re all the same size.
Cutting Out Spoon
Next, cut all three of the cardboard outlines out. Make sure every single one of them is equal from one another.
Glueing All Spoons Together
Then, glue all three of the cardboard pieces together so we can have a sick piece of cardboard that looks like a spoon. After you put the glue on the cardboard make sure you clip it down with the binder clips to secure them in place and let them dry for at least one hour.
Cutting Out Cardboard for the Hooks
After, cut out three different pieces of cardboard. One being 1 cm width 4 cm in length, another being 1 cm in width and 1 cm in length, and another being 1 cm and width 2 cm in length. Cut two of each out and make sure that there are even. Now do this process 2 more times to get all of the pieces needed. At the end you should have 12 pieces of cardboard in total.
Glueing Parts for Hooks
Next, glue them together. Make sure that all of them are lined up on top of each other evenly. After you’ve done glueing them together put a binder clips on them to make sure that they do not move while drying. Repeat this process for all 12 of the pieces. In the end you should have 6 pieces.
Glue and Cardboard Together to Make Hooks
Then, glue them together like how shown in the picture. Make sure that they are the same length altogether. In the end you should have two hooks looking almost identical.
Making Holes in Our Spoon to Put Our Dowels in
Next, pokes three holes going all the way through all three of your spoons together.(You can put more holes depending on the size of your spoon) Try not to bend your spoon while in the process. You can use a screwdriver to help you if needed. I just used a sharpen dowel.
Glueing Our Dowels in Our Spoon
Then, mark and cut your dowels to your desired length. Put glue in the holes and put your appropriate size dowels in the hole. Make sure you let them dry for at least half an hour before moving onto the next steps, if you don’t you might take the towels out and have to glue it all over again because it might spread and not dry as good.
Glueing Hooks Onto Our Spoon
After, glue your hooks to the bottom of your cardboard spoon. I prefer using hot glue for this because it dries quicker and it’s easier. Make sure that you hold it while it dries so it sets in the right position. If you can, try and blow on it to help cool it down.
Attaching Our Suction Cups to Our Spoon
Now it’s time to attach our suction cups to our spoon. This is very simple, all you have to do is grab a little bit of hot glue and put it at the end of your suction cup and glue it straight onto the back of the spoon. Make sure you center it as best you can.
Customize
Last but not least, do you have the freedom to customize your multi use phone holder/cooking helper to look however way you want. I painted mine and added my slogan to it. Stick it and go! Now you have a phone holder that can help you while you’re cooking. It’s stylish and helpful. Know if you can help me out by voting for me it will be great thank you.
