Multi Colored Infinity Mirror

This is an illusion mirror that looks like it goes on forever. If you have all the tools it doesn't take long at all. This is a fun project to make and it will impress all of your friends and family.

First, we need to cut the acrylic in half the best you can. Use a table saw and be sure to use a blade that is either made for cutting acrylic or use a blade that has a lot of small teeth so as to not cause cracks. Do not go too fast so you don't make cracks and don't go too slow so the acrylic doesn't melt.

Cut the wood slightly smaller than the acrylic on all sides because you will be making a grove to put the acrylic in later. I cut my longer ones to 19'' and the shorter ones to 13'' on the top/longer part of the mitered edge.

I cut the groves about half an inch deep because I needed to coverup some hols and scratches in the acrylic you don't have to tho but I am still telling how I did it. To cut it you need to lower the blade on the table saw to half an inch tall and set up the fence to help to make it straight. make one pass on each piece of wood to have the grove placed at the same distance from the outside. Do it on all pieces before moving the fence keep moving it over until the acrylic fits in the grove. To make the install easier cut the other grove all the way to the back. ( I didn't and it made putting the lights in really hard.) Then drill a hole in one of the corners to let the wires pass through.

Sand the wood smooth. You need to apply wood stain and clear coat to protect it. And while you are letting it dry you can put the mirror film on the acrylic. First thoroughly clean it with rubbing alcohol. Next, you need a spray bottle with soapy water and a squeegee. Spray the acrylic and safely add the film and then use the squeegee to push the bubbles out then cut the extra fill at the edge of the acrylic. Then do the same to the other one.

To put it tougher you need to put the first piece of acrylic in the grove with the film side in. (use the best looking acrylic) Then either glue or screw it tougher in the corners. Once the glue is dry feed the lights through the hole and start sticking it to the inner wood. Then lower the other piece of acrylic into the frame and put a piece of cardboard behind it then nail small pieces of wood on the inside to clamp in the acrylic. Now your DONE.
