Muli

Muli is a stool assembled entirely from components of a versatile modular system. Its playful design offer both functionality and aesthetic appeal. It is a contribution to the Trikka system. Feel free to make and enjoy it.

  • Drill
  • 10mm bit
  • 8mm bit
  • 6mm bit
  • Saw
  • Sandpaper or sanding disk
  • Screwdriver

Parts

Make Domino Board

  1. Cut your board to whatever size you would like (the example shown is 480x180mm).
  2. Round your corners using sandpaper or a sanding disk if available.
  3. Drill 4 holes using the dimensions in the image with a 10mm drill bit

Make 90mm Rod With M6 Insert Threads

The example shown uses a rod with a length of 90mm but feel free to use whatever length rod you like.

  1. Measure and cut rod
  2. Mark the center on both the top and bottom
  3. Drill a hole 40mm deep on both ends using a 6mm drill bit
  4. Dill a hole 15mm deep on both ends using an 8mm drill bit
  5. Using a drill bit extender and the proper sized bit, screw in an insert nut on both ends (tip: once the insert nut is in place, refrain from removing and replacing it as it can lessen the strength of the grip the nut has in the wood)

Assemble and Use

  1. Using the M6 bolt, screw the board, spacer, and rod together on all four sides.
  2. Enjoy your new Muli stool.
