Movable Action Camera Holder

This is a "I need it now" project. So to the workshop and let the magic happen.

I needed a holder for my Action Cam for a little time-laps experiment. So I designed a simple cad in Sketchup 8. The 2d graphic has been drawn in QCad. You can download the dxf file if needed.

Partlist:

• 4 mm plywood
• 6 screws 5 mm x 30 mm
• 6 butterfly nuts 5 mm
• 12 serrated washers
• 12 washers

I have the chance to own an Epilog 30W Laser-cutter and 10 min later I had a box full of parts.

They were done in 4 mm plywood.

It´s really easy to assemble. Gluing 3 half round parts together and then two of these resulting parts together and you have a joint part. For then end joint parts, I used a slightly different part with the bigger square form to screw the camera and to fix it on the surface.

Take a screw with a washer and one side part. Now a serrated washer ans then a joint part. Again a serrated washer. Onother side part and to finish a washer and a butterfly nut.

Repeat this, until all the parts are mounted.

All the parts are:

• 2 end joint parts
• 2 joint parts
• 6 side parts

To fix the camera, I use a 6 mm screw and a butterfly nut to tighten the cam.

A clamp can be used to hold the construction in place. You can also use any other method, like to srew it or using a counterweight.

On the final pictures, you can see how my camera mount looks like, when it's finished.
