Moustrap Car
The mousetrap car is a car powered by a mousetrap. The mousetrap is like the engine of the car. It can be a very fun and amusing project to do to have some competition. The way the mousetrap powers the car will be listed later. The mousetrap car can use many resources but it is inexpensive or it might not even cost anything. You can make the mousetrap car to compete in projects or to do a intertaning activity.
Materials
So for the first step you need
1. some cardboard
2. 4 old CDs
3. Two skewers
4. And two more dowels
5. String
6. Straws
7. zip tie
Body Wrap
In this step you don’t have to do much or you don’t have to do it it’s just to make your mousetrap car look nice. So for this you can use paint, duck tape, or any other color materials. I would consider duck tape it makes the job more easier. For that all you do is get some detailed duck tape and wrap it around the body of the car.
Wheel Work
For the next step you want to glue your mousetrap to the body of your car. Then you put the wheels and the axle together. To do that grab the two BBQ skewer and the CDs or whatever use as your wheels. Once you grab that get tape only four pieces and stick them to the wheels get one axle so the wooden sticks and the first wheel and make a hole in the middle of the tape and attach it to the wheel on top of the hole, of the wheel. Then make the axle so the stick go through the holes. After all four wheels are taped then make the axles go through.
Attachments
Get the straw and take out one wheel from the two axles and stick the one straw through the stick, then to one of the straws cut it in half. Then stick those two on the other axle, Reattach both tires.
Finall Adjustments
Glue only the straws to the body of your car don’t let the glue touch the sticks, the reason for that is because the straws will allow the axle to move when the car is in motion. If the glue touches the stick the axle won’t move the car.
Finish of Mousetrap Car
Then you want to glue a stick to the mousetrap and tie a string to the stick. after you can glue some type of hook like the tip of the zip tie to the exposed axle. Then hook the string to it and wind it up and you are ready to go. That will be it for how to make a mousetrap, now you can compete, and see what it can do.
