Mounting for Bike Light on Basket
My Dad has recently started riding his bike to work. He got a basket to hold his work bag and flaps to keep it clean. He got a new light that is supposedly visible in daylight as well as night. The only problem is that his bike bag covers it up... He commisioned me to create somthing with my 3D printer to fix this issue and I knew just what to do.
Supplies
Supplies:
3D Printer
3D Printer Filament
3D Modeling Software (Tinker Cad Is Easy And Free)
2 Machine Screws
2 Machine nuts
Wrench
Hex Key
The Design
The main problem I needed to adress was that the tail light was angled to acount for the mounting on the back of the sadle post. I first started by angling a cylinder to the correct degree. The next part part was to add the holes for the machine screws. After that fired up the printer.
3D Printing
My Dad requested the piece in black so I started printing. I used 1.75 mm PLA (Hatchbox) on my Anycubic Vyper. When it was done it was time to put it on my Dad's bike!
Final Product
I went out back and installed the piece on my Dad's bike. It fit! My Dad can now ride to work with saftey and his bike bag.
