Mountain Stone Diffuser

Hi All,
I came across a product listing on Aliexpress, a Mountain Stone diffuser for aroma therapy. On a closer look at the description, I found that these are artificially created limestones, hand curved in a mountain shape. These are porous for the slow diffusion of the oils.
Of course, I wanted one for myself and another 10 for gifting, but no shipping to India, and way too expensive for an artificial rock.
So I decided I will make it myself using Plaster of Paris, in the process created a mold using a hot glue gun
Supplies

Material
- Play Dough
- Basic Sculpting tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Plaster of Paris
- Plywood plank (Scrap)
- Sand papers
Sculpting

- Using Play Dough create the basic shape of the mountains
- We will curve the details later
- Let the hot glue gun heat up
- Slowly pour some hot glue in the valleys
- Cover a thin layer of hot glue one side at a time
- Let the glue dry for a few minutes
- And we have our mold ready
Casting

- Make a mixture of Plaster of Paris and Water (2:1 ratio)
- The mixture should be like a pancake dough consistently
- Pour the mixture into the mold and let it dry for 30 minutes
- Demold the mountain and use sandpaper even out the surface
- Using basic sculpting tools or a spoon curve lines from the base to the tip of the mountain
- Do this from all directions
- Smoothen the edges but not too much
Stand

- For the stand, I have used 19mm plywood scraps
- Cut it into a rectangle that is enough for the mountain
- Using sandpaper, prepare the surface of the wood and then Stain it
- Once the stain is dry, add a sheet of foam at the bottom, so that this does not scratch any surface/furniture
Aroma Therapy

- Place the Mountian on the stand
- Pour few drops of essential oils
- Sit back and relax
