I was looking for a winter project and decided that it would be fun to build a trailer out of a wrecked motorcycle

Find a Wreck

Looked around on craigslist for a couple months until I found one that I was familiar with. One of my bikes is a Gen 1 FZ1, so it was easy to see that it should work. The bike had been run into something solid and the whole front end was bent. Stripped it down to the frame and swingarm.

Start Cutting and Building

I started by chopping off the front end, which I knew was not needed. Then started cutting and drawing on pictures to get down to what I thought I needed. Added some additional steel in the back and some salvaged luggage mounts that I cut and welded to fit my needs. Little test fit of some side cases (didn't wind up using these ones)

Bolt Stuff On

Wound up using a different set of luggage and mounted a cooler rack to the tongue. Added some cheap LED lights and a new tire.

Enjoy It

Tows very well behind my FJR 1300, just need to figure out somewhere to go.
