Mosquito Trap
This is a DIY mosquito trap anyone can make at home. I used the design thinking process to create my product.
Design thinking is a process every designer must go through, it makes things clear and helps you improve your design. The process consists of 5 steps, the steps are: 1, empathize, that is when you interview people to get their opinion on your creation. Step 2; Define, when you notice which challenges you can go through and how to solve them. Step 3; Ideate, when you start to create models of how you want your product to turn out and what you want it to do. Step 4: Prototype, and that is when you start to create your design in real life. Lastly Step 5: Test, see if your product works and see what changes you need to do.
Supplies
Dried Yeast
Sugar
Boiled Water
Plastic bottle
Boil Water
The first step to create this mosquito trap, you need to boil water and when the water is being boiled you need to add 2 table spoons of brown sugar to the pot.
Mix Sugar With Water
Once the water has been boiled, you add 2 table spoons of brown sugar to the pot, and mix until the sugar is dissolved. The water should look brown at the end.
Add Dried Yeast After Water Is Cooled
After adding brown sugar to the water, you need to wait about 10-15 minutes so that the water cools down. Once the water is cooled down add 3 tablespoons of dried yeast to the water and mix until dissolved.
Put Outside
After water is mixed with dried yeast, take it out side to a place where you see mosquitoes are bothering you and wait.
Check Mosquito Trap
After waiting go check mosquito trap to see if it has mosquitoes trapped inside. If you did all the previous steps correctly you should have some mosquitoes trapped. (My trap had few mosquitoes because it was cold outside 21 degrees celcius, and not so many mosquitoes were outside)
