Moong Dal Uttapam

Today we are going to prepare moong dal uttapam which is very easy and quick to prepare.
Soft and fluffy savoury pancake with some delicious chutney by the side, uttapam is light, wholesome and keeps you full for long. It is also super easy to prepare and makes for a quick meal during those busy morning. The best part is there is no perfect measurements you can add vegetables dal spices as per your taste you can make this skipping rice we love adding little rice so we add some rice . Its very simple to make , required very less ingredients.
Making moong dal uttapam we need soaked moong dal, rice (optional) capsicum, onion, tomato, finely chopped coriander,green chilli, ginger, hing and salt.
Many people add soda but we want to make it in a very simple way we dnt want to ferment it we want to make an instant uttapam a more healthier version.
Moong dal uttapam is enriched with fibre and antioxidants that makes it a great option for the ones who are on dieting and want to reduce those extra fat

Supplies

Ingredients
1 cup moong dal
2tbsp rice
1/4 cup chopped capsicum
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped tomatoe
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
1 inch ginger
3 finely chopped green chillies
Few curry leaves
1/4 tsp hing/ asfotedia
Salt as per your taste
Oil/ ghee

Washing and Soaking Dal and Rice

Wash moong dal and rice together 2 to three times discard dirt and let it get soaked for 3 to 4 hours.

Grinding Dal in Mixer Grinder

Add the soaked moong dal in a grinder along with ginger and green chillies to make a smooth paste.

Adding Vegetables

Now add all chopped vegetables add salt and hing mix well the consistency shuld be like dosa batter If you find the batter to be thick, add some water to it. And if the batter turns thin ,add some sooji to get the perfect consistency.

Preparing Uttapam

Add the batter in preheated pan and spread it evenly. Drizzle some oil or ghee on sides or you can skip oil and ghee for more healthier version.
Now cover this with the lid and let it cook in low to medium heat.
Now remove the lid and carefully turn the uttapam upside down. Cook it on a high flame for a few minutes till you the capsicum and onions turns golden and crispy.

Serving Uttapam

Serve this uttapam hot with any chutney of your choice, ketchup and curd.
The best part making this recipe is you dnt need to follow the exact measurements you can add other vegetables of your choice you can add more spices if you want. You can add soda we dnt prefer adding soda so we made this without soda.
