Have you ever missed eating food with your hands, like when you were a little kid? If so, then monkey bread is the best dessert for you. Imagine tasting the sweet and delectable dessert, picking off chunks of buttery, gooey dough. In this recipe, we include an easy rundown on how you can make this heavenly dessert. All you need are a few simple ingredients that are already in your kitchen.
Supplies
- Pillsbury Biscuit
Glaze
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
Spiced Sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Preparing the Biscuits
Open the Pillsbury dough can and cut each individual biscuit into fourths. Then put the dough on to the side.
Preparing the Glaze
Melt the butter and brown sugar in a pan. Heat at medium temperature and continuously stir until caramelized. Then remove from the stovetop to let cool.
Preparing the Spiced Sugar
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Put it aside for later.
Coating the Biscuits
Take the cut biscuits and put them all into the spiced sugar bowl. Toss them all together to make sure the biscuits are evenly coated with the mixture.
Prepare the Biscuits
Grab a bundt or loaf pan and coat the pan with butter or spray with cooking oil. This will prevent the monkey bread from sticking to the pan.
Arrangement of the Biscuits
Place the sugar coated biscuits into the pan.
(Note: To receive a more even coating of glaze on the biscuits, the biscuits could be glazed before arranged in a pan.)
Glaze the Biscuits
Take the cooled caramel glaze and drizzle it all into the pan.
Bake the Monkey Bread
Place the pan into the heated oven for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy
Take the monkey bread out of the oven and serve warm. Enjoy!
