Momma's Old Fashion Chili
Are you tired of plan, boring chili, well fear no more! Mamma's Old Fashion Chili is a homemade masterpiece made with love. Once you try it, your life will be completely changed. With this recipe, you'll never get enough. Add it to your favorite things like hot dogs, put in a Frito pie, or eat is straight out of the bowl. However you choose to enjoy it, mamma's chili will change the way you look at chili.
Supplies
6 Servings
Ingredients:
2 Ibs. of ground beef
2 tablespoons of minced garlic or 2 cloves of garlic (2 tablespoons = 2 cloves)
1/2 finely diced onion (optional, incorporating this adds more flavor)
8 oz. of tomato sauce
2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of ground cumin
1 teaspoon of ground oregano
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional, will make it a little spicy)
14.5 oz. of petite diced tomatoes
Cook and Crumble
Cook and crumble two pounds of ground beef with the optional half onion.
Drain Grease
After cooking, drain the grease out of the ground beef into a secured container (for safety).
Garlic and Sauce
Add the garlic and tomato sauce to the meat, cook for 2-3 minutes.
Seasoning
Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and (optional) cayenne pepper. Stir to combine the seasoning and turn burner on low.
Cook
Immediate serving:
You can cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, and then serve.
Simmer:
Cover and let simmer for one hour, stirring occasioanlly
*If meat seems to dry out after half and hour, add a half a cup of water and mix in with the chili*

If you would like to add beans...
Add one can of rinsed and drained pinto beans, and one of rinsed and drained kidney beans.
Serve and Enjoy
Serve over Frito's, hot dogs, or just a bowl topped with cheese or desired toppings!
