Modular Origami Dragonfly

IMG_1912.JPG

Disclaimer: This is not a tutorial, it is just a showcase of what i've been up to lately.

This dragonfly is my own invention and i'm pretty happy about how it turned out. It isn't the best example of modular origami because it is only the second modular origami i've ever made. The first one I made was a swan, as shown in my profile picture, and I made it off of a tutorial I found. It got me interested in modular origami which is why I decided to invent my own.

If you want me to post an instructable on how to make the modular origami pieces, please let me know in the comments below.

Supplies

For this project I used maybe a hundred or so modular origami pieces and a lot of time. I did not count how many I used, but I think to say a hundred would be pretty accurate.

Tips

Here are some tips for making the dragonfly:

1. I made the four wings of the dragonfly separately from the body and attached them later. This made making the wings a lot easier.

2. After I was done with a small section of the dragonfly, I put glue on the bottom to hold it together.

3. Sometimes, making pieces became tedious. So every time I was watching a movie or something, I would just pull out some paper and make them while I watched. That way, I didn't get bored of making pieces.

4. For the head of the dragonfly, I used pieces half the size of the regular ones.

The first picture is taken from the top; the second from the front.
