Mirror Image Confusing Clock
Around 15years ago a friend said why is 12 always at the top of a clock. Its taken some time but I finally made the clock with some other twists to help confuse the system.
I wrote this based on using MDF for the mount but this could me an old plate, an old clock face or anything of your choice.

Before You Start
Order and ensure you have everything you need before starting.
Preparing the Face
Make sure you wear a mask to protect you from MDF dust.
Cut the MDF to size approx. 300mm square.
Drill a 8mm hole in the centre.
Round the edges with the router.
Cutting the Hole for the Mechanism
Face Mask!
Flip the MDF over and mark the position of the hole to set the clock mechanism in based on the centre being the 8mm hole.
Using the router cut out the hole for the mechanism taking care not to go too deep.
Painting the Face
I used two coats of MDF sealer paint that I had from a previous project. No need to get any specially.
I guess you could use an under coat of your choice.
Once dry I painted the top and sides with a metallic effect gloss paint. Of course the choice is yours to match you decor.
Paint by Numbers
Time to paint or stain the numbers that will be used on the face.
Don't forget to flip the numbers over so they are mirror images, paint or stain a colour of your choice and allow to dry
Layout of the Face
Take a sheet of paper from the printer and cut it square.
Using the ruler draw lines from corner to corner.
Using the protractor mark 30 degree segments around the paper from the corner lines passing through the centre point.
Push the pencil through the centre point of the paper and into the hole in the MDF.
Place the numbers around the paper to the position of your choice. Remember the numbers should be backwards from a standard clock and 12 can be anywhere you choose.
I placed my number inline with the centre also inline with the hands. If I do it again I may set the numbers parallel to the top and sides.
Once you are happy using the superglue stick the numbers to the face in your chosen positions
Making It a Clock
Insert the mechanism into the cut out and fit he washer and nut on the front face. Tighten the nut with the pliers.
It makes no difference which way the mechanism is fitted.
Flip the board over.
Using the scissors I cut the minute hand to be 25mm 1" shorter than the hour hand (to add an extra bit of confusion). I have had second thoughts about this but it's too late now (you choose).
Install the hour hand pointing at the 12 where ever it's positioned followed by the minute and the second hand both over the top of the hour hand.
Install the battery
The mechanism came with a fixing attachment which you may choose to use or a fixing to suit your wall and décor
