Minimalist Bamboo Holder

This minimalist holder can compliment almost any setting, and is incredibly easy to make. It is also versatile, because you can store many different types of things in it. Enjoy making this and please comment!

You'll need the following:

• A Piece of Bamboo (that still has one end covered) 5"-6" long
• Note:

  Bamboo is split into segments, with hard dividers between the segments. If you cut at one of these dividers then you will end up with a covered end

• A Saw

• A Piece of Sandpaper

• A Pocket-Knife (Optional)

First cut the non-covered end of the bamboo at an angle. No, I don't care what angle, although 30-50 degrees sounds about right. Sand any rough edges, and make sure your bamboo "canister" can stand up straight. If it cannot, sand the covered end until it stands up straight.

Second, you can create the same type of texture I did. This step is optional. You can carve strips down the side of your holder, to create two different shades of green that compliment each other. You can also paint your holder, but that is considered very, very bad by many woodworkers, so don't get caught doing it by any master woodworkers. :-)
