Miniature Theater Stage

In this Instructable I will be showing you how to make a miniature theater stage with curtains!
Supplies

- Hot glue gun
- Box cutter
- Black paint
- Paint brush
- Ruler
- Pencil
- 5 inch long by 2 1/2 tall piece of fabric
- Needle and Thread
- Balsa Wood with exact measurements in photo above
Cutting Wood Pieces

- Cut one piece 5 inches long.
- Cut two more pieces 3 5/16 inches long
- Assemble the pieces as the photo shows with hot glue, school glue, (I used a different glue in the beginning but it took to long to dry so I switched to hot glue)
- You only need to worry about the length of the wood not the height because the wood is already pre-cut.
Front of Stage/Proscenium

- Cut a piece of wood 5 inches long.
- Draw the Proscenium according to the image with measurements and you should have something like the 3rd image shown.
- Cut out the stage wall hole.
- Glue to the assembled structure connecting the top to the smaller roof and the bottom to the floor (longer piece of wood).
Painting & Background (Optional)

- I decided to paint the inside and some of the outside black, this is optional but I think it is a nice touch.
- I also decided to print out a background and glued it to the back wall of the stage.
- If you want to paint the inside of the stage make sure to do it before the sides.
Back

- Cut two pieces 11/16 of and inch long.
- Glue them in the gaps of the back wall so it is filled.
Curtains

- Grab two 5 inch long 2 1/2 tall piece of fabric (Color of your choice).
- Make sure the fabric is not to thin or thick.
How to Make a Curtain.

- Make a mark at each 1/2 inch on the 5 inch piece of fabric. x2
Sewing Curtains

- Fold along the lines until the fabric looks like the picture above.
- Use the needle and thread to secure folds together by making knots on both ends of the fabric and middle.
- Make sure you at least double knot.
- x2
Attaching Curtains

- Glue a small piece of the wood on the top of the curtain (The side showing the folds neatly)
- Glue the side of the wood not connected to the fabric right above the right and left side of the proscenium.
- x2
