♡ Miniature Polymer Clay Snowman ♡
Hello! In this tutorial, I show you how I made a Miniature Polymer Clay Snowman using mainly a aluminium foil, paper clay and polymer clay. It’s fun to make and you can use it as an awesome decoration.
What you need :
Shaping the Snowman
I started by building the structure of the man of snow which is based on aluminum, follow the following steps :
- Form 3 balls of aluminum foil of different size taking 3 pieces of length respectively 25cm, 17cm and 10cm.
- Glue the balls using hot glue,
- Shaping two arms using aluminum foil,
- Glue them using hot glue.
Cover With Paper Clay
After, I cover all the house with paper clay. (I used "Das modelling material" but you can any paper clay or even a homemade paper clay). I don't use natural air dry clay, it will shrink and that will result in a lot of cracks around your jar. So paper clay is the best to use in this type of craft.

Paint
I paint the whole body of the snowman with white color using acrylic paint. You can use watercolors and watercolor crayons. It's up to you. In the end you can seal the paint using some matte spray varnish
Facial Modeling
- Using the black polymer clay I build the eyes,
- Using the orange polymer clay I build the nose,
- Using the red polymer clay I build the mouth.
I use DAS smart polymer clay for all my polymer clay creation.
Building the Hat
To form the snowman's hat, I use black polymer clay with a little white in order to have a gray glow. It is very important to have sculpting tools for easy any polymer clay work.

Making the Scarf
To build the scarf, I used both yellow and sky blue colors of polymer clay. I started by making two strips of the same length and width of 8mm. Then, I cut each of them into rectangles of 10mm long. After, I assembled the rectangles with alternation of color using only a carving tool.

Building the Gloves
To form the snowman's glove, I use two little ball of green polymer clay. Using sculpting tools, I built the desired shape of the gloves.
Making Earmuffs
As the previous step, I use two little balls of green polymer clay. Using sculpting tools, I built the desired shape of the earmuffs. Follow the attached photos to better understand the steps and to know the tools used.
Building the Crutch
To build the crutch, I used both white and red colors of polymer clay. I started by making two strips of the same length. Then, I tress them until I reach the desired shape. I cut 5cm of the strip and I bend one of its sides.
