Miniature Guitar (6.5" Tall)
This is a 6.5” tall miniature replica of my guitar. This is one of those projects that i wish I had documented so that I could make a step by step. I won't lie to you, this was very difficult. Some of the components are so small they broke in my hands so they took several attempts.
Materials and Construction
Body - Iroko - Bandsaw blank, scroll saw profile, drill out center cavity
Front - Beech - Bandsaw thin piece, plane flat, drill center hole
Neck - Mahogany - Scroll saw profile, carve with knife and Dremel tool
Saddle - Mahogany - Bandsaw, carve with knife and Dremel tool
Bridge Pins - Painted
Bridge - Yogurt Pot - Carved with knife
Frets - Painted
Inlays - Painted
Pickguard - Painted
Rosette - Pen
Nut Bridge - Yogurt Pot - Carved with knife
Strings - 0.3mm - nichrome wire
Tuning Pegs - Galvanized gardening wire - Formed using piers and a vise
Strap - Ribbon and string
Strap button - A nail with a drop of Araldite glue to form a round head
Stand - Welding rod bound with electrical insulation tape and back section made from matchsticks
For all the Friends fans out there, i'm pretty sure this is the same as one of Phoebes many guitars. I'm not 100% sure but if anyone can confirm this I would love to hear from you (Yamaha F-310).
