Mini Wooden Christmas Tree

How to make a Mini Wooden Christmas Tree. I thought it would be good project for Christmas. I have also included the video from my Youtube channel. This is a Simple project that anyone can make, with a few tools. I have also included a pdf file of the pattern for download.

What's Needed

You will need the following:

Scroll Saw or a Coping saw

1 1/2" Spade Drill bit or 1 1/2" Hole Saw

1/16" Drill bit

Drill

Sander

11" x 7 1/4" x 3/4" piece of wood, I used a piece of Cedar from Lowes

Printer to printer the pattern

Spray Adhesive

4 Small nails

Stain or Paint, I used Varathane Barn Red

Paint brush

4 small 1" ornaments

Gloss Spray Lacquer

Step 1

Print the pattern out and glue it to the wood using Spray adhesive.

Spray the adhesive onto the back of the pattern and a little on the wood. Then apply the pattern to the wood, press down firmly.

Let the glue dry for about a hour before continuing.

Using a backer board underneath the pattern, either drill out the holes with a 1 1/2" Spade bit or Holesaw.

Be sure and use a backer board to prevent tear out, plus take your time drilling. If you have a drill press use it.

Now you can Scroll saw the tree pattern out. If you don't have a Scroll Saw, you can use a coping saw.

Note take your time when cutting out

Using the 1/16" drill bit, drill the small holes above each of the bigger holes.

Note you don't have to drill all the way thru, only about a 1/2" deep

Now sand the parts, be sure and sand the base until it fits snug into the bottom of the tree

After sanding the parts, wipe off with a tack cloth. Then either apply Stain or Paint.

Follow the directions on the can

After letting the stain dry overnight, I sprayed a few coats of Clear Gloss Lacquer. Allowing it to dry between coats.

Install the small nails into each hole above the bigger holes. I used some small nails I had laying around. They was about a 1/2" long. Then hang the small ornaments onto the nails
