Print the pattern out and glue it to the wood using Spray adhesive.
Spray the adhesive onto the back of the pattern and a little on the wood. Then apply the pattern to the wood, press down firmly.
Let the glue dry for about a hour before continuing.
Step 2

Using a backer board underneath the pattern, either drill out the holes with a 1 1/2" Spade bit or Holesaw.
Be sure and use a backer board to prevent tear out, plus take your time drilling. If you have a drill press use it.
Step 3
![vlcsnap-00121.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FGS/Q5QH/KIHF9HYW/FGSQ5QHKIHF9HYW.jpg&filename=vlcsnap-00121.jpg)

Now you can Scroll saw the tree pattern out. If you don't have a Scroll Saw, you can use a coping saw.
Note take your time when cutting out
Step 4
![vlcsnap-00124.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F3D/54Q2/KIHF9HYO/F3D54Q2KIHF9HYO.jpg&filename=vlcsnap-00124.jpg)
Using the 1/16" drill bit, drill the small holes above each of the bigger holes.
Note you don't have to drill all the way thru, only about a 1/2" deep
Step 5
![vlcsnap-00125.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F7C/5NZQ/KIHF9HYN/F7C5NZQKIHF9HYN.jpg&filename=vlcsnap-00125.jpg)
